As I was celebrating my over the top patriotism by going and buying a lettuce from Supa Valu this morning, I saw a woman walking down the street wearing the Australian flag on her hat and around her shoulders. I couldn’t help but smile at the display of patriotism, however, I have to admit that flag wearing USED to be a fun thing to do. Now it just reminds me of this:

And, here s my 30 second, half arsed attempt at a national anthem parody. You’ve been warned, but, its in the spirit of Australia Day and everythink.

Australians all let us rejoice

for we are union free

because John Howard is the king

of our democracy

The Senate’s broke and the Queen still rules

And the High Court doesn’t care

The opposition is a farce, so

let’s Advance Australia Fair!
